Carolina antique power association “C.A.P.A “ is always looking for new members to help keep our interests and knowledge spread far and wide! The site and building plans have already been obtained and this was accomplished through the memorandum of understanding with Rowan County and their agreement for use of Sloan Park for the museum site. This museum will provide numerous learning and community
engagement opportunities. Through educational partnerships, this museum will provide tours for school children, teaching them about the rural lifestyle in Rowan County over the past century. Next, this museum offers the opportunity to showcase our farm and country life history. The collection of donated farm/country items will showcase relevant history and culture of the rural life in Rowan County and surrounding area. Lastly, this museum will seek a unique opportunity to connect the youth and elders with our relevant farm and country life past. It is hoped that through learning, both the history of farming and country life practices, even comparing to present day operations, that it will encourage all generations to be socially responsible and aware of the development of their community. This museum will encourage hands on learning and community participation with local farmers already thrilled for this opportunity. Lastly, we hope to engage both farmers and others and teach about their history, occupation, their inspiration, and finally the heart and soul of why they love farming.
