This week, we’re heading to western Rowan County to spotlight the Town of Cleveland, a community where small-town charm, history and industry come together.

Originally incorporated as Third Creek in 1883, the town was renamed Cleveland in 1887 in honor of President Grover Cleveland. Over the years, the community has maintained its rural character and close knit atmosphere while becoming an important part of Rowan County’s manufacturing economy.

Today, Cleveland is home to Daimler Truck North America’s Cleveland manufacturing facility, where Freightliner and Western Star Class 8 trucks are produced. Its location in western Rowan County, along with access to major transportation routes, helps connect the community to opportunities throughout the region.

From its historic roots to its contributions to modern manufacturing, Cleveland continues to play an important role in Rowan County’s story and future.
