The City’s compost facility, located at 1955 Grubb Ferry Road, is still currently closed to the public until further notice as we work to produce and replenish our compost supply.
Composting is an ongoing process that takes time, and this temporary closure allows our team to focus on creating quality material for future distribution.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. We’ll share updates as soon as the facility is ready to reopen!

As National Public Works Week continues, today we want to highlight the many ways our team connects with the community beyond their daily responsibilities.

Throughout the year, Public Works staff attend school events, career fairs, and other community outreach opportunities across Salisbury to help educate residents of all ages about the important work we do every day.

Sharing what Public Works is all about and inspiring future generations is incredibly rewarding for our team, and we’re proud to serve and connect with our community.

It’s National Public Works Week! 💙

This year’s theme, “Rooted in Service and Powered by Community,” is reflected in the dedication and teamwork shown by the City of Salisbury Public Works Department every day.

From keeping our streets clean and safe to maintaining essential services throughout the community, our team members work hard behind the scenes to make Salisbury a better place to live, work, and visit.

This video features some of our newer members of our Public Works team saying hello to the community — help us show them some appreciation!

Stay tuned all week as we highlight the people behind the work during National Public Works Week!
