PROCEDURE SKILLS: COMMUNICATING DAILY PROCEDURES
Kindergarten classrooms have procedures & directions for how to do EVERYTHING!

Here’s some of what they will hear:
Moving to carpet time: “I see people looking at me. Make sure you are sitting on your bottom. I see we are ready to learn.”

Lining up: “1 means get your body ready which means sit up straight & look at me. 2 means stand like a statue. Remember, statues don’t wiggle or take little baby steps to get to the front! 3 means to line up safely.”

Walking down the hall: “Hands down & elbows in. Don’t forget to catch a bubble (lips sealed shut).

BACK-TO-SCHOOL BUS SAFETY TIPS! 🚌

🚸 Students, when walking to the bus stop, always stay on the sidewalk. If there isn’t one, stay out of the street.
🚸 While at the bus stop, wait quietly in a safe place away from the road and don’t run or play.
🚸 Always cross the street in front of the bus; never go behind it. If you drop something, tell the driver before you try to pick it up.
🚸 Respect the danger zone by staying ten steps away from the bus and where the driver can see you.

🖍 From a child’s very first lessons in Pre-K to navigating the first week of middle school, our students are growing through new experiences every day. 💻

This week, students across Pre-K through 8th grade have been building routines, confidence, and connections—learning to use agendas, conducting science experiments, receiving extra learning support during recess, exploring the foundations of singing in chorus, practicing locker routines between classes, and finding familiar faces and new friends at lunch.

Every new routine is a step toward independence, every lesson is an opportunity to discover, and every connection helps students feel they belong. ⭐

We must keep our school buses as secure as our school buildings. No one - except designated RSS staff and students - is allowed to enter the school bus. And it's the law!

🚨 NC General Statute 14-132.2. Willfully trespassing upon, damaging, or impeding the progress of a public school bus is a Class 1 misdemeanor. 🚨
