Throughout October, as we kicked off a new 4-H year, our after-school club explored what 4-H stands for by making 4-H pumpkins! 🎃 Each color represents an idea that helps us grow:
🤎 Tan holds the strands together and reminds us to keep our goals and ideals firm. Brown represents the earth and soil—the strong foundation that helps us move forward.
🤍 White represents the four Hs on the 4-H clover—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health—and stands for purity and wholesomeness. Clear represents Head and clearer thinking.
💙 Dark blue represents Heart and loyalty: Heart to greater loyalty. Yellow represents Hands and the warmth of serving others: Hands to larger service.
💚 Green represents Health, the 4-H clover, life, growth, creativity, and youth: Health for better living. Purple represents the 4-H motto, “To Make the Best Better,” and encourages us to keep striving for our best—for our club, community, country, and world.
🩵 Light blue represents each member’s potential—the sky’s the limit! Saluda 4-H offers programs in STEM; Agriculture and Livestock; Leadership and Citizenship; Healthy Living; and Natural Resources. Have an idea for something new? Let Mrs. Lauren know!
🧡 Orange represents learning by doing and the hands-on projects that help us grow and lead.
Together, these colors make a pumpkin and remind us that every part of 4-H helps us become our best. 💚
