When Kelly Air Force Base was selected for closure, Dan Gonzales chose to stay in San Antonio—and became part of the team that helped write the next chapter of our city's aerospace story.

As one of StandardAero's first San Antonio employees, Dan has spent decades helping grow its operation at Port San Antonio while creating opportunities for the skilled workforce that has powered this community for generations.

Now, his contributions have earned him a place in the San Antonio Aviation and Aerospace Hall of Fame.

Students from across San Antonio showcased their aerospace, drone and engineering projects at the Boeing Center at Tech Port yesterday, then joined the luncheon for The Dee Howard Foundation's 10th annual Aviation & Aerospace Hall of Fame, honoring Dan Gonzales of StandardAero, Mark Huffstutler, and Joseph Hernandez-McCloskey.

Don't be surprised if one of these students is up on that stage in ten years.

Congratulations to this year's honorees, and to the Dee Howard Foundation for connecting local students to careers in aviation and aerospace.

A new kind of care has arrived at Tech Port. 🩺🦷

The Boeing Company and Port San Antonio recently celebrated the opening of Crossover Health at the Port, a new primary care and dental clinic serving employees and families right here on campus.

The clinic already serves Boeing's 5,000-plus San Antonio workforce —and other employers across Tech Port now have the opportunity to extend primary care access to their own teams. Dental services are open to everyone.

It's another step toward creating a campus that not only connects people with great careers, but also with services that support them and their families.

This summer, high school and college interns at Port San Antonio gained real-world experience while exploring the industries, technologies and career opportunities growing across our campus.

Through hands-on work, tours and connections with professionals, students discovered new career possibilities while building skills and confidence for what comes next.

Their experiences were part of a larger regional effort led by greater: SATX, which connected more than 150 students with internships across San Antonio this summer.

We recently visited Hallmark University, where learning goes beyond the classroom. Within its College of Aeronautics, students turn their passion into purpose with real world hands-on experience.

This training prepares students for enriching careers in aircraft maintenance, aviation management and the overall aerospace industry.

Want to see the next generation of San Antonio tech talent in action?

On Saturday, Aug. 22, 100 local high school students will build their own high-performance gaming computers — from scratch — at the Boeing Center at Tech Port. At the end of the day, they take them home.

You're invited to watch live from the mezzanine. Free admission and parking, no ticket needed. AREA 21 and the LAN Gaming Center are open while you're here. Food available in the food hall and arena mezzanine.
