The City’s Department of Resilience and Sustainability is a runner-up for the Cool Leader Award, recognizing global leaders taking action to advance sustainable cooling and climate solutions.

San Antonio was recognized for its Cool Neighborhoods Initiative, which includes:
-Heat vulnerability mapping to guide investments
-Cool pavement and cool roof pilots
-Expanded shade, tree cover, and weatherization efforts
-Neighborhood-level heat monitoring in communities facing high heat exposure
