The Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas

Our goal is to help children and their caregivers understand the depth of their grief, stabilize and preserve family relationships, and develop healthy coping skills after the death of a loved one.

We are incredibly grateful for partners like Cavender Cares who come and spend time with our families at the Center. Before caregivers and children go to support groups, every night our Potluck Partners provide and serve dinner. This gives our families a moment to slow down and sit together for a meal, while also making meaningful connections with other families who understand their grief. Thank you for making a lasting impact on our families!

Today, we honor the lives forever changed by the devastating Hill Country floods. The emotions are still heavy on our hearts as we continue to grieve the loved ones, the homes, and the security that was lost. We hold space for those who are hurting on this day.

As our friends and neighbors continue to recover, we are deeply moved by the resilience and compassion our community has shown. We stand side by side with our community as they continue to grieve and rebuild. CBCST is dedicated to offering support to those who need it as soon as they are ready. If you’re struggling and need support through this unique and difficult grief, we are here to listen and help.

We are so grateful for all that NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief does for the grief community, and we were so honored that San Antonio was the host city for the symposium this year. It was such a joy to share the Center with so many other professionals dedicated to supporting grieving children.

Every one of our staff members who attended the conference had an incredible time and returned excited and proud of the work we do. Thank you again to everyone who visited, and for NACG for bringing this community together year after year🦋

This summer, our Uvalde kids attended Camp Journey, a four-day grief camp full of hope and healing. On the final day, our friends at Spurs Sports Academy hosted a one-day basketball camp. Our kiddos were beaming in their jerseys and had an incredible morning learning about basketball and practicing their new skills! Thank you to San Antonio Spurs for your ongoing partnership and dedication to the Center. Together, we created new memories that our campers will truly cherish💙
