The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is currently working an active scene in the 9800 block of Acadian Dr.

🚨 Deputies are still actively searching for a suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

If you see anything suspicious or have information related to this incident, call 911 immediately. Do not approach the suspect.

Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes while deputies continue their search.

We had an incredible time hosting our Fire Camp last week! These young participants did an outstanding job taking part in every activity, showing enthusiasm, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Fire Camp such a memorable experience. We especially appreciate our dedicated firefighters for investing their time and knowledge to inspire and help build the next generation of local heroes.

Bexar County Emergency Services District No. 2 is looking for a Facilities Technician to help keep our fire stations and district facilities clean, safe, and mission-ready.

If you take pride in your work, enjoy working in a team environment, and want to make a difference behind the scenes supporting first responders, we'd love to hear from you!

Position: Facilities Technician
📍 Location: Various District Facilities
🕒 Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
(Occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency call-backs as needed.)
What You'll Do:
✔ Maintain clean, safe, and professional fire stations and district facilities
✔ Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and custodial duties
✔ Assist with event setup and facility support
✔ Respond to work orders and support special projects
✔ Help create an environment where our firefighters and staff can focus on serving our community

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Class C Driver License
• Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination
• Custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required

As we celebrate our nation's independence with family, friends, and fireworks, Bexar County ESD No. 2 reminds everyone to make safety your top priority.

🔥 Use only legal fireworks where permitted.
🔥 Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby.
🔥 Never allow children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision.
🔥 Light one firework at a time and maintain a safe distance.
🔥 Never attempt to relight a "dud." Soak it in water and dispose of it properly.

🐾 Don't Forget About Your Pets!
Loud fireworks can be frightening for our furry family members.
✅ Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays.
✅ Close windows and doors to help reduce noise.
✅ Ensure pets have current ID tags and microchips.
✅ Create a safe, comfortable space with their favorite blankets and toys.
✅ Play calming music or turn on the TV to help mask the noise.

🚨 If you see unsafe or illegal fireworks activity, report it to the appropriate authorities.
