Yesterday I spoke with Tim Johns of abc7newsbayarea about the growing issue of unauthorized donation bins across San Jose. Many of these bins are unpermitted, placed without property owner approval, and aren’t connected to local nonprofits. If you see one, please send a photo and location to [email protected]. 

When you’re ready to donate, please give directly to trusted local nonprofits so you know your generosity is making a difference in our community.

Aly Wagner’s 3v3 event was a success.

If you didn’t make it out for the tournament, there’s still time. They’ll be at Little Italy San Jose until 9 PM with World Cup watch parties, big screens, and activities for the whole family.

The robots are among us! In May 2026, delivery robots started roaming San José sidewalks, delivering food to residents and workers. Now, some companies are considering deploying larger, faster delivery robots in our bike lanes. These proposals raise questions about the future of mobility and delivery services in San José: Will the robots make life easier? Will they bring new safety concerns to our streets? Can I ride one? (No, you cannot ride one.)

Join staff from the City of San José Department of Transportation and representatives from the delivery robot industry to learn about and share your input on draft city rules to regulate the devices. Ask questions and share your thoughts about sharing the street and sidewalk with the devices.

Today, we welcomed Leslie Osborne, co-founder of Bay FC and a legend of the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Leslie shared her journey to the Bay Area, how she fell in love with the region, and how that passion ultimately led her to help launch Bay FC in 2023 alongside fellow co-founders and San José natives Brandi Chastain, Danielle Slaton, and Aly Wagner—soccer icons and trailblazers in their own right.

She also delivered a powerful and inspiring message about the opportunity ahead of us. With the World Cup coming to our city, San José is poised to experience an extraordinary moment of pride, connection, and community. Leslie encouraged us to embrace every moment, be present throughout the journey, and open ourselves to the joy and passion that soccer can inspire.
