Movin’ with Mulcahy is back! And there’s no better time to get moving than the start of a new school year.

Join us for a community walk through Downtown Willow Glen on Friday, August 28 at 10:00 AM. We will meet at the Starbucks on Lincoln Avenue at Minnesota.

Along the way, we’ll share neighborhood updates, visit local businesses, and meet some of the amazing shop owners who make Willow Glen special. Plus, we will hear from a surprise guest before the tour begins – so be sure to arrive early.

Last week, I had the honor of speaking at the grand reopening of the Gardner Community Center. We are incredibly grateful to Gardner residents and community advocates who continued to speak up for this critical neighborhood anchor.

After years of anticipation, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County (Catholic Charities SCC) was chosen to activate the center, bringing new programs and services to neighbors of all ages, including art, dance, music, educational activities, and more.

This milestone not only celebrates a new beginning, but serves as a healthy reminder that when community comes together, anything is possible. We want to acknowledge Google for its part in this reopening, underwriting operations and programming at the center.

It was a pleasure to attend the grand opening of San José’s new Golden State Shoot 360 center, now open in District 6 at City Sports Club (610 Newhall Drive).

Golden State Shoot 360 combines innovative basketball technology with expert coaching from the Golden State Sports Academy, expanding access to year-round training for athletes of all ages in our community.

I was also honored to celebrate alongside Juan Toscano-Anderson, former Golden State Warrior and NBA Champion; Ruthie Bolton, WNBA legend and Olympic gold medalist; and Kirk Hendricks and Jeff Addiego of the Golden State Sports Academy.

Yesterday I spoke with Tim Johns of abc7newsbayarea about the growing issue of unauthorized donation bins across San Jose. Many of these bins are unpermitted, placed without property owner approval, and aren’t connected to local nonprofits. If you see one, please send a photo and location to [email protected].
