The NYS Workers’ Compensation Board is a state agency that oversees three types of insurance for workers: workers’ compensation, disability benefits, and Paid Family Leave.

• Workers’ compensation provides lost wage benefits and medical treatment to employees who become injured or ill on the job.

• Disability benefits provide temporary cash benefits to employees who become injured or ill outsid

e of their employment and are unable to work.

• Paid Family Leave provides job-protected, paid time off to employees in times of family need. Our mission at the Board is to protect the rights of employees and employers by ensuring the proper delivery of benefits and by promoting compliance with the law.
