Join us as we chat with Sana Javeri Kadri and Asha Loupy about The Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook, which celebrates beautiful, simple, and seasonal cooking with 85 recipes adapted from India and Sri Lanka’s best family spice farms.

This Author Event is part of our Library Speakers Consortium partnership with brings authors from all over the world to our patrons to watch from the comfort of their homes!

They will be joining everyone Tuesday, June 23 @ 2pm.

Villains and Apostates: British Loyalists in Schenectady
Thursday, June 18 @ 6:00pm-7:00pm
Program Room 1 at our Main Library

The American Revolution forced everyone to pick a side. Not everyone flocked to the cause of independence. Many people in the colonies, and many people in Schenectady remained loyal to the crown and were willing to fight alongside British troops.

In this presentation by Schenectady County Historical Society, we'll discuss the motivations and interests of local loyalists. We'll explore the often grim fates of those who refused to join the Revolution.
