Join us Saturday, September 5 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Pickrell Park and spend your morning shopping local, enjoying live music, and supporting some amazing vendors from our community!

🌧️ Rain or shine — we’ll be there! Hometown Harvest is held under the Large Pavilion, so don’t let a little rain keep you away.

🛍️ FREE tote bags for the first 50 attendees!

Join us for a morning of learning about Texas Horned Lizards and carpenter ants and their importance to our ecosystem! The San Antonio Zoo Center for Conservation and Research has selected Crescent Bend Nature Park as a harvesting location to help feed their Texas Horned Lizards. 🔎🐜

💚 Staff Spotlight: Jared, Parks Superintendent! 🌳👏

What Jared enjoys most about working for the City of Schertz is the people and the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

Jared gives much of the credit to our incredible Parks Operations crew, who work through the Texas heat, rain, long days, weekends, special events, and everything in between to keep our parks running and looking their best. As Jared puts it, “They are also the people who make me look a lot smarter than I actually am.” 😂

Jared is proud to lead a team that takes pride in their work, looks out for one another, and always finds a way to get the job done—even when the plan goes completely out the window.

A few fun facts: Jared is 6'4", drinks black espresso, still plans on dunking a basketball again (his knees may disagree), and has unofficially claimed the title of “Chief of Fun.” 😉

Thank you, Jared, for your leadership, humor, and dedication to our Parks & Recreation team and the Schertz community! We appreciate you! 💚
