The Scio Vol. Fire Department is currently looking to fill multiple volunteer positions in our ranks ranging from Firefighters / EMTs, Cadet members and auxiliary members. Have you ever thought of serving your community in any capacity? If so, then we have a place for you.

Firefighters / EMTs are needed to answer emergency calls on a volunteer basis anytime an emergency occurs in our coverage area. Certification classes and training is paid for and provided by the department.

Cadet members can join the department at the age of 14. Their duties mainly act as a support role during emergency calls and fundraisers, while also training with certified members within the department. Once our cadets graduate High School and reach the age of 18, they are then eligible to begin taking certification classes and start a career in Fire / EMS.

Auxiliary members are also a support role within the department. This role is typically for those who do not wish to answer calls, however would like to help out the department during our many fundraisers and other events throughout the year. *You do not have to live within the township to be an auxiliary member*.

The Scio Volunteer Fire Dept has proudly served our area since 1936 and we continue to do so today. Reach out to a member or message our page for more information.

UPDATE: The missing person has been located and is safe. Thank you to our community who showed up at the station and other parts of the town to help!

There will be a large Fire / EMS / Law Enforcement presence in and around Scio while a missing person search is underway.
