Earlier this evening, something magical happened in the heart of Green Ridge… A deer was spotted cozied up near our beloved British phone booth, quietly taking in the peaceful charm of the Hart Free Library. Whether it was drawn by the glow of the lantern or the scent of neighborly stories, it reminded us just how special this little corner of Scranton really is.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Hart Free Library is officially open at our new location on the corner of N. Washington Ave and Morel Street!

This exciting new chapter wouldn’t have been possible without the generous financial support from our donors and the tireless efforts of the Hart and McDonald families, who poured their time, energy, and heart into setting up our beautiful new space. We are so grateful for your dedication and vision.

We’re overjoyed to continue serving the Green Ridge neighborhood and this truly wonderful, supportive community. As a reminder, please take or leave ONE book and do not leave boxes of books as we do not have a fulltime currator.
