Power Savers Alert!! 💡

Due to high temperatures and increasing energy demand, we are asking municipal electric customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. Power Saver Hours are from 3 pm to 7 pm. Customers are encouraged to lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. Participation will lower electric use throughout the community and in return lower customers’ monthly electric costs and reduce utility energy costs over time. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact.

Customers can help by taking simple steps such as:

•Replace dirty air filters regularly to improve airflow, increase efficiency, and help your HVAC system run more effectively.

This past Saturday, August 29th, Mayor, Council, members of the Seaford Police Department, and City staff celebrated the 3rd Annual Community Day of Healing & Restoration and the launch of the Nutter Park Prevention Hub!

The day was filled with family fun and community resources that focused on the wellness and strengthening of our community. During the festivities, Mayor Matt MacCoy presented a proclamation recognizing the official launch of the Nutter Park Prevention Hub. The Nutter Park Prevention Hub will provide youth and families with opportunities for mentoring, leadership development, wellness activities, educational workshops, and positive community engagement, while helping prevent opioid misuse, substance use, violence, and other behavioral health challenges.

We are incredibly excited to see this initiative grow and make a lasting difference in the lives of Seaford families and youth.

A huge thank you to the Seaford Police Department, OutLoud LLC. , Sussex County Health Coalition, the Delaware Prescription Opioid Settlement Commission, and all of the partner groups and state officials for their collaboration and dedication to the betterment and safety of our community! 💙
