Seaford Fire, along with mutual aid partners responded to the 100 block of Seaford Meadows Drive, for a report of a residential structure fire.

Engine 873, Ladder 87 and Rescue 87 made the response.

Engine 873 had water on the fire 6 minutes after time of dispatch to keep the fire to the room of origin.

Seaford Fire, along with mutual aid partners responded to the 300 Block of Arch street for a report of a residential structure fire.

Engine 875, Ladder 87 and Rescue 87 made the response.

Engine 875 arrived 2 minutes after dispatch, with water on the fire 4 minutes after dispatch.

During last night's council meeting, Mayor Matt MacCoy honored members of the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. for their courage, teamwork, and heroic actions during a residential structure fire on Yorktowne Lane on March 21st, 2026.

Despite initial reports that all occupants were out of the home, firefighters conducted a primary search and located an unconscious female victim inside. Their training, quick actions, and teamwork were instrumental in safely removing the victim and ultimately saving her life.

The City proudly commends and recognizes Assistant Chief Jason Hudson, Captain Robert Sharp, Firefighter/EMT James Durr, and Firefighter Ty Matthews for their recommendation for the Lifesaving Medal and Firefighter/EMT Larry Whaley, Firefighter/EMT Lewis Donofrio, and Firefighter John Cartledge for their recommendation for a Unit Commendation Medal. Your exceptional service and dedication to the safety of our community is forever appreciated by the Mayor, Council, and City.

Last night at the City of Seaford council meeting, Mayor and Council recognized AC Jason Hudson, Cpt. Robert Sharp, FF James Durr, FF Ty Matthews, FF Louis Donofrio, FF John Cartledge, and FF Larry Whaley for their efforts at a house fire last March, where they rescued an unconscious victim found in a bedroom. After a lengthy stay in medical facilities, the person rescued is expected to make a full recovery. That night, their training, composure, and dedication made the difference. These firefighters continue to set a high standard for our department and our community.

Both engines showcasing low rear hosebeds, operating attack lines of the front and rear. Both engines equipped with 1500 GPM Waterous pumps with a 750 gallon tank. The two engines together take in 600+ runs yearly, serving the Westside of Sussex County, Delaware.
