Blades Volunteer Fire Company Provides Update on Ambulance B71 Involved in Motor Vehicle Accident

August 6, 2026
The Blades Volunteer Fire Company announces that Ambulance B71 was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Brickyard Road East of Sussex Highway, while responding to an emergency medical service (EMS) call on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The ambulance sustained damage to its front suspension after a front impact involving the driver's side front tire. Fortunately, only minor injuries for ambulance crew member and no injuries reported to the occupants of the other vehicle. All individuals involved were evaluated at the scene, and one crew member at a local medical facility.

Ambulance B71 has been removed from service and is currently being evaluated by a repair facility to determine the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs before it can safely return to service.

The Blades Volunteer Fire Company is grateful that everyone involved walked away without significant injuries. We remain committed to providing safe, reliable emergency medical services to our community and appreciate the continued support and understanding of our residents.
