Starting January 11, 2027, Libby users who have a Northern Waters library card will need a PIN to access their Libby account.

Our library system (NWLS) is updating its catalog so patrons can create PINs. This change will more than likely be ready in November 2026. Stay tuned for any and all updates. We will get you the information as we receive it.

If Libby is not working right now, your library card may be expired. To renew your library card you can call the library.

Monday, October 26th is the last day to submit your 2-Sentence Ghost Stories! Please mark your entry with your name and age category (youth or adult) and drop it off in person at SLPL or email it to [email protected] Winner will be announced on Oct 30th!

Tuesday, October 27th at 4pm Lego Legends Come spend an hour with other kids using your imagination to build without limits! We meet once a month on the last Tuesday, unless noted otherwise. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Wednesday, October 28th 10:30am-12pm Books & Bread Stop by Church of the Nazarene for a drive-up food distribution starting at 10:30. Free food to anyone in need. You may pick up for other families, with a four families per vehicle limit. The only information collected is the total number of household members per age group. If able, please bring your own bags or boxes. Books and Bread is brought to you by Feed My People, Spooner Memorial Library, Shell Lake Public Library, Church of the Nazarene, and Community First Washburn County.
