A devastating tragedy occurred in Dorchester tonight, Saturday, May 23, 2026, claiming the life of a Boston firefighter.

The Incident
Crews responded to a structural fire at 18 Treadway Road, where they were met with intense flames pouring from the third floor and burning through the roof. The rapidly growing blaze was quickly upgraded to a second, and then a third alarm, bringing a heavy deployment of first responders to the scene.

The Fall and Mayday
While operating on the upper levels of the building, a firefighter fell from a third-floor rear porch. A "Mayday" was transmitted over the radio as crews rushed to aid their fallen brother.

Response and Status
The firefighter was immediately treated at the scene by Boston EMS paramedics and rushed to a local hospital. Tragically, despite all lifesaving efforts, the firefighter was pronounced deceased.

Rest in Peace, Brother.
Our deepest thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire Boston Fire Department during this unimaginable time of loss. 🙏🙏🙏
