This afternoon firefighters were called to assist highway 110 Fire Department with a brush fire nearing a home on Oyler road. Firefighters from Denard, Botkinberg, Burnt Ridge and Shirley were able to quickly stop and extinguish the fire. The home owner was able to keep the fire from burning a vehicle in the yard and slow the fire from spreading to the house.
Please be extremely careful when burning in these dry conditions.

Last night, Burnt Ridge Firefighters participated in auto extrication training with Fairfield Bay, Shirley, and Hwy 110 firefighters, big thanks to Fairfield Bay Fire & Rescue. Bay Fire & Rescue for organizing the joint training.

Training this week focused on brush/grass fire attack with front mounted monitors and handlines.
