Slatington Fire Department was requested by St. Luke's University Health Network to provide assistance with their annual Hospice bike ride. UTV 24 along with Fire Police are assisting with this event. Main Street at the trail will be periodically closed to assist bikers with crossing the street. Please use caution in the area of the trail head for the duration of the event.

Last night at approximately 2030 hrs, Station 24 was dispatch to the area of the Slatington Airport for reports of a large column of smoke. Rescue Engine 24, Brush 24, and Fire police Captain/Lieutenant 24 went responding to investigate the cause. Upon arriving at the airport, we convened with Slatington Police as well as the caller, who stated that the smoke was seen on the mountain. Chief 24 then notified Deputy 6 (Emerald) that this investigation was in their district. Deputy 6 had found a controlled burn in their district, and requested us to respond to the controlled burn to investigate. On arrival, the controlled burn was under the control and supervision of the homeowner, and all units cleared the call a few minutes later.

This morning, we were dispatched to assist Station 67 (NOVA) with retrieving a patient that had an ankle injury. Chief 24, Utv 24, and Rescue 24 responded as well as Station 29 (Walnutport) and Station 23 (Slatedale). The patient was safely extricated after a few minutes and was placed in the care of ems.

Yesterday, Rescue Engine 24 responded to assist Washington Township with a dwelling fire in their district. While our crews were there, we were also dispatched to a brush fire within Slatington Borough. The brush fire was handled by Fire Marshal 24, Brush 24, Station 9 (Friedens Fire Company), and Engine 14 (Lynnport Fire Department).

As of Monday, April 27th, 2026 : The Burn Ban in the Borough Of Slatington has been lifted.

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during the burn ban.

Please note that while burning within the Borough is permitted at this time, we still strongly recommend using extreme caution.

Attached below is a copy of Slatington Ordinance No. 641, which outlines the regulations that must be followed when burning within the Borough.
