Yesterday, June 21 was a busy day for us.

First, at approximately 0505 hrs, Station 24 was dispatched to assist Northampton county with traffic control in Lehigh Township.

Then, at approximately 1621 hrs, we were dispatched to the area of Fairview Cemetery for a reported smoldering/burning trash can. The fire was extinguished, and units were placed available.

Almost immediately after, at 1643, we were dispatched to assist police with a search. Station 24 (Slatington) began searching nearby roads and trails. Then Station 9 (Friedens) was requested to assist. Approximately 45 minutes later, Northampton County was requested for their drone team from Palmer Fire Department to assist. The Northampton County Drone Team flew for as long as they could, and were released to get rest and charge their batteries. Lehigh County Drone team then had a crew available to assist, and were dispatched. Station 23 (Slatedale) was dispatched for manpower and the All Terrain Vehicles. A Trailing dog was brought in by PSP, but we're unable to find anything trail to follow. After a few failed attempts to locate anything by the Drone team, Station 29 (Walnutport) and Station 6 (Emerald) were requested for manpower to begin foot searches. During their foot searches, a thermal capable Helicopter from the Pennsylvania State Police responded to assist with the search. The foot crews completed both of their search areas, and the Lehigh Counry Drone team completed their sweep of the Lehigh River and Walnutport canal. The foot crews and Lehigh County Drone team were released to get rest in anticipation for needing them the following day. We then requested a Drone from Northampton Borough Fire Department, an ATV from East Penn Fire Department, and Fire Police from Palmerton Fire Department. As the Drone team from Northampton Fire Department began searching, the Juvenile was located safely in Walnutport Borough at approximately 6am. Once police confirmed his identity, all units were released.

Then at approximately 0750 on June 22 (today), we were dispatched to assist ems on an overdose. Crews responded and assisted ems as requested.

And as of 2208 hrs, Quint 24 responded to assist Lehigh Township with a reported dwelling fire.

🚨MISSING JUVENILE🚨

The Slatington Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile.

Charles Bachman Jr. (pictured below) is 11 years of age, 4’11 tall with brown eyes and brown hair. The juvenile resides at 97 Hillcrest Lane, Slatington Borough.

The juvenile was last seen leaving his residence at approximately 1530 hours on June 21, 2026. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a blue polo shirt, and blue sneakers.

His last known location is believed to be Fairview Cemetery, where his mother located his watch. The juvenile has been diagnosed with ADHD, has a history of running away, and is known to hide in secluded areas.

Anyone who has seen this child or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Slatington Police Department immediately at (610) 437-5252.

6/6/2026 At approximately 1530 hours, Station 24 was dispatched to 550 Main Street for an automatic fire alarm. Quint 24 responded and deemed the cause to be an accidental activation.

Then at approximately 2000 hrs, Station 24 was dispatched to the area of Main Street and 2nd Street for an odor investigation (Smoke odor). Rescue Engine 24 as well as Slatington Police responded, and units were unable to find anything of significance.

Today at approximately 1100 hrs, Station 24 was dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Center Street for spill control at a 3 vehicle motor vehicle accident. Utility 24 and Chief 24 Responded and controlled the minor coolant leak.

Then at 1854 hrs, we were dispatched to the same intersection for another 3 vehicle motor vehicle accident. Chief 24 and Utility 24 responded to clean a small amount debris in the middle of Main Street.

Please remember to use caution at all times while driving, and avoid anything that may be a distraction.

Today at approximately 1930 hrs, Station 24 was dispatched by police to assist in searching for a missing person. Brush 24, UTV 24, Utility 24, Chief 24 and Fire Marshal 24 began searching and established an EOC at Station 24. Station 9 was requested to assist with searching. Lehigh County Drone team and Northampton county Drone teams were dispatched to assist as well. Wolfpack Search and Recovery arrived with a trailing dog and ground crews. After approximately 3 1/2 hours, the person was located safely by the Search and Rescue team.
