***COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION***

At approximately 3pm today, the Slatington Police Department responded to an incident in the area of Dowell Street and West Church Street.

While officers addressed the situation, temporary road closures were implemented in the immediate area, and residents may have noticed an increased police presence.

The incident has since been safely resolved, and all roadways in the area have been reopened. There is no danger to the public.

This post is being shared to provide information to the community regarding the earlier police activity. The Slatington Police Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the United States Deputy Sheriff's Association for their generous donation of a mini rifle-rated ballistic shield to the Slatington Police Department.

This shield will provide our patrol officers with an enhanced level of protection while responding to high-risk incidents, allowing us to better safeguard both our officers and the community we proudly serve.

🚨SNOW EMERGENCY🚨

The Borough of Slatington will be declaring a Snow Emergency beginning Sunday, February 22nd at 6AM and ending Tuesday, February 24th at 6AM.

❄️ NO PARKING will be permitted on Main Street during this time, as it is designated a Snow Emergency Route.

🚗 Any vehicles found in violation will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Please plan accordingly, obey posted signage, and help our crews keep roadways clear and safe.

A Crisis Track event has been created to document property damage caused by Winter Storm Fern.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey using the link below. This information helps state and local emergency management officials across Pennsylvania identify and assess damages resulting from recent natural disaster activity.

Please submit one survey per impacted address.

The Slatington Police Department is excited to take part in 'Pizza with the Police', hosted by Caring DAM Hearts

📍 Victory Park Pavilion

Join us for free pizza (while supplies last!) and a great opportunity to meet and connect with the officers who proudly serve our community.

This gathering is part of Caring DAM Hearts’ larger event, Project Warm & Cozy, where they will be collecting jackets, scarves, hats, and gloves to support individuals in need this winter. The event will also feature free pictures with Santa, a Christmas tree lighting, food trucks, DJs, and more.

🎁 TOYS FOR TOTS DONATION DRIVE 🎁

The Slatington Police Department is proud to again support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation this holiday season. We are now accepting new toy donations to help brighten the holidays for local children in need.

Donations can be dropped off at Slatington Police Department Headquarters located at 125 South Walnut Street, in our designated drop box.

Please note: All toys must be new and unwrapped.

The deadline to donate is December 18th, 2025.🎄🚓
