In honor of EMS Week:

Did you know the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve our community? Our department is made up of three dedicated crews β€” A Crew, B Crew, and C Crew β€” that rotate 24-hour shifts to ensure emergency services are always available. During their shift, crews respond to fire, medical, rescue, and public service calls while also completing training, station duties, equipment maintenance, and community outreach.

The department is led by the Fire Chief, who oversees all operations, administration, and the overall mission of protecting our community. Supporting the Fire Chief is the Battalion Chief, who helps manage daily operations, personnel, emergency response coordination, and department readiness. Each crew is supervised by a Captain, who leads firefighters and EMS personnel during emergency incidents, training activities, and station operations to ensure the crew is prepared to serve at all times.

This schedule and leadership structure allow our firefighters and EMS personnel to provide reliable, around-the-clock care and protection for the families we proudly serve.
