Community Action Southold Town (CAST) is a 501(c)3, Not-For-Profit organization created in 1965 to help low-income residents meet their basic needs in the areas of nutrition, employment, energy, and education. CAST exists as a safety net for Southold Town families from Laurel to Orient Point and Fisher’s Island. “It is the mission of CAST to promote self-sufficiency and provide a safety net for Southold Town residents in need.” The majority of CAST’s funding comes from the generosity of the community and a variety of fundraising activities, including applications for grants from private and public organizations.

🌽🎶 Thank you to everyone who joined us for Bluegrass & Sweet Corn at CAST! A special thank you to Astrograss for a wonderful performance and to Chef David, Aura, Saira, and Doris for the delicious corn.

We also celebrated the unveiling of our 2026 Summer Rise mural, created by our Summer Rise students and local artist Kara Hoblin, and our bison sculpture, created by Summer Rise students alongside Erwin List Sanchez. Both pieces commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and showcase the creativity and talent of our young artists.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this afternoon of music, art, and community so special! 💚
