🚑 One last visit, and a great way to wrap up the summer!

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps had the pleasure of returning to VISIONS Center on Blindness for our final visit of the season — and once again, it was an incredible time.

What started as an opportunity to introduce campers to EMS turned into something even better: plenty of good questions, smiles and laughs, and the chance for our crews and the campers to genuinely connect.

We want to thank everyone at VISIONS for welcoming Spring Hill throughout the summer and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a special program. Our crews truly enjoyed every visit, and we hope the campers had just as much fun as we did!

Our summer visits may have come to an end, but we’re already looking forward to the next time we get to come back.

Around midnight, our crew responded to a patient who was not feeling well. While the crew was assessing and speaking with the patient, the patient suddenly became unresponsive and went into cardiac arrest.

The crew immediately recognized the arrest, initiated CPR, and delivered one shock. CPR was continued for several minutes, and ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation) was achieved. By the time the patient arrived at the hospital, the patient was awake, alert, and talking with the crew.

This is a perfect example of early recognition, immediate high-quality CPR, rapid defibrillation, and excellent teamwork making a difference.

Outstanding job by everyone involved. This is what we train for, and tonight that training helped save a life. Great work!

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps was honored to spend the day at VISIONS Center on Blindness, where campers had the opportunity to climb aboard our ambulances, explore lifesaving equipment, and meet the first responders who serve their community every day.

Last night, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps had the pleasure of attending the 8th Annual Palisades Credit Union National Night Out at Clover Stadium!

It was a great evening spent alongside local first responders, community organizations, and families from throughout Rockland County. Events like National Night Out provide an important opportunity to connect with the community outside of emergency situations, strengthen relationships, and showcase the people and agencies dedicated to keeping our communities safe.

Last night, Spring Hill EMS was proud to attend the Spring Valley National Night Out at Memorial Park. National Night Out is a great opportunity for first responders and community members to come together, build relationships, and promote a safer, stronger community.

Throughout the evening, our members enjoyed meeting residents, answering questions about EMS, and connecting with families while showcasing some of the equipment we use to serve our community every day. Events like these allow us to strengthen the trust and partnerships that are so important to the work we do.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello, and to the organizers for hosting another successful community event. We look forward to continuing to serve and engage with the residents of Spring Valley and the surrounding communities.

Yesterday, due to weather conditions, the Weschester Medical Center Flight Team was unable to fly, requiring an emergency ground transport from Good Samaritan Hospital to Westchester Medical Center. The patient was in critical condition with an actively ruptured ascending and descending aortic dissection, making them extremely unstable.

Within four minutes of the call, EMT and nursing student A. Fried arrived at Good Samaritan Hospital and immediately began organizing and coordinating the transfer to Westchester Medical Center. Shortly thereafter, Paramedics C. Saperstein, S. Goodman, and A. Zilberberg responded to the hospital, while EMT Evans brought the ambulance. Within minutes, the patient was loaded and en route to Westchester.

During transport, our paramedics continuously monitored the patient and administered critical medications to maintain the patient’s stability.

From the moment the initial notification was received until the patient arrived in the operating room was just 62 minutes, an extraordinary effort where every second counted toward giving the patient the best possible chance for a positive outcome.

At the same time, Spring Hill continued serving the community with four ambulances actively handling emergency calls throughout our response area demonstrating our ability to provide critical care while maintaining uninterrupted emergency coverage for those who needed us.

Sunday morning, Spring Hill EMS volunteer EMT’s and Spring Hill volunteer Paramedics were dispatched for a patient in severe respiratory distress. Our members arrived on scene to find a patient in severe distress, requiring immediate intervention. At Spring Hill, our paramedics are equipped with ventilators, which allows them to perform a variety of life-saving measures. In this case, our medics were able to place the patient on BiPAP, which prevented the patient from requiring intubation, leading to what we hope will be a faster recovery time for the patient. We thank all of our members for their incredible dedication to the community we serve.

Yesterday, our crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps worked alongside the New York State Police and the Hillcrest Fire Department to provide emergency medical care to the vehicle occupants.

All occupants were in stable condition. Thank you to all of the responding agencies for their teamwork and professionalism.

Congratulations to our newest EMT Graduates Paola Jimenez and Cristian Allaico-Quinde who graduated from the Rockland EMS Academy accelerated summer course.

They worked over the last two months to pass complex exams and learn the lifesaving skills used in the field every day. This milestone is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community.

We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see them serving our community as EMT’s.
