National Telecommunicators Week is a time to recognize the 911 dispatchers behind the scenes who answer the call when it matters most.

Every day, our dispatchers show up ready to handle the unexpected. They are the first, first responders, and their impact is felt in every call they take.

This week, we celebrate the dedication and heart they bring to this job. It is not easy work, but they do it well and with a true commitment to serving others.

To our team and telecommunicators everywhere, thank you for what you do every single day. This week is for you!

We know America’s 250th birthday is coming up… but I don’t think this is what they meant by “starting the celebration early.” 🇺🇸

All jokes aside, fireworks can turn dangerous fast. Please leave it to the professionals, keep a safe distance, and never store or light fireworks near buildings or other hazards. Celebrations should end with memories, not emergencies.

HUGE shoutout to our dispatchers working this incident and the Spring Fire Department, Harris County ESD 16 - Klein Fire Department, Harris County ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare, The Woodlands Fire Department, Champions Emergency Services District, Magnolia Fire Department, and South Montgomery County Fire Department.

Yesterday, the Spring community lost a true hero, W. W. “Cotton” Weaver. Cotton dedicated his life to serving others. He was one of the original volunteers who helped start the Spring Fire Department in 1953 and dedicated more than 30 years of service to Cypress Creek EMS as a volunteer. He served as Fire Chief, a respected leader, and a mentor to generations of firefighters and EMTs.

Cotton devoted his life to service, both on the fireground and in EMS. He led by example and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. His influence is still felt today throughout the department he helped build and the generations of firefighters and EMTs he inspired.

He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on. We take comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his wife, Barbara, and many fellow firefighters and EMTs who were surely waiting to welcome him home.

Rest easy, Chief. Thank you for everything.

Thank you to everyone who donated toys for Santa at the Fire Station! Your donations truly made a difference and brought joy to so many children today.

We would also like to thank the Ponderosa Forest Mainenance Association for putting this event together every year, Ponderosa Fire Department for hosting, and Safe Kids Greater Houston (alongside Cypress Creek Fire Department / Harris County ESD 13, Harris County ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare, and Mont Belvieu FD) for running the booster drive.

We feel truly blessed to have been a part of such a meaningful event.
