We are the friends of youth! Valuing all children and helping them develop to their full potential by providing hope and a positive vision for the future.

Monthly meetings held on 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 am at Springboro City Building. The Springboro Optimist Club … Friend of Youth! We are dedicated to helping youth in our community grow and succeed. We develop optimism as a philosophy of life while promoting an active interest in good government, civic affairs, a respect for law, patriotism, and international accord and friendship. We be

lieve that the giving of one’s self in service to our youth will advance the well-being of humankind, community life, and the world. Our club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 am at the Springboro City Building Community Room. Please be our guest and learn more about how our organization is Springboro youth’s biggest cheerleader. You are one step closer to help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth. Please fill out the Membership Application Form and mail it to Springboro Optimist Club, P.O. Box 37, Springboro, OH 45066. Some of our programs and activities include: the Springboro Avenue of Flags program, Tri-Star Basketball and Tri-Star Football competitions, the Optimist Essay Contest, the Margaret Barclay Scholarship competition, Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser, and numerous others. Due to the forecasted weather, we are rescheduling our annual Avenue of Flags locker clean out planned for tomorrow. We will now be doing it next Saturday, April 25, at 9 a.m.

If you are willing and able to help us get all our flags ready for the upcoming season, please let us know! It’s a great community service opportunity for the whole family.

Congratulations to our essay and oratorical contest winners! We recognized our essay winners at our February 12 club meeting and our oratorical contest winners tonight. In total, these students earned $4,900 in scholarships and cash prizes.

Calling all young writers! The Springboro Optimist 2025-2026 Essay & Scholarship Contest is open for submissions. Essays are due January 9. The top prize is a $2,000 scholarship!
