👷‍♂️🚧 Hard hats were officially on yesterday as our 1st-grade classrooms transformed into bustling construction zones! Our hardworking builders spent the day measuring up in math, hammering out new words in phonics, and blueprinting brilliant stories in writing. It is amazing to see how much engagement sparks when learning gets a hands-on, heavy-equipment upgrade. Way to build a strong foundation of knowledge, 1st grade! 🔨🧱✨

Book Tasting Fun! 📚✨

Mrs. Ashurst, Mrs. Toxey, and Mrs. Reiber’s 2nd-grade classes kicked off Thursday morning with an amazing book tasting! Students dressed up as chefs and sampled all different types of books to learn what makes each genre unique. They had the absolute best time exploring new stories.

🧼✨ Clean Hands, Healthy Kids! ✨🧼

Today our kindergarten students had a special visit from our wonderful school nurse! She stopped by our kindergarten classrooms to teach our little learners all about the importance of washing their hands and keeping germs away. 🦠🙌

The students absolutely loved the hands-on demonstration and were amazed to see just how easily “germs” can spread and why using soap and washing those hands really matters! 🫧👏

We are so thankful for Nurse Kim for taking the time to make learning about healthy habits fun, memorable, and engaging for our kindergarteners! 💗🧼

📆Labor Day Weekend Reminder!

Camden County Schools will be closed to students on Friday, September 4, for a scheduled Teacher Workday/Professional Learning Day and on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and relaxing long weekend!🇺🇸

🦈 Science is SWEET in Ms. Holloway’s Shark Tank! 🦈

Our third-grade sharks have been diving deep into earth science, exploring the exciting differences between rocks and minerals!
To put their knowledge to the test, students tackled our "Is It a Rock or a Mineral?" lab using everyone’s favorite specimens—candy and Rice Krispie treats! 🍬🍫

The Mission:
By cutting, breaking, biting, and dissecting their sweet treats, our young scientists had to examine their composition:

•Minerals: Made of one single type of crystal (like a solid piece of candy!).

•Rocks: Made up of two or more minerals combined (just like a packed Rice Krispie treat!).

Our sharks had an absolute blast digging into this hands-on investigation. Who knew geology could taste this good?

Shark Math in Action 🦈🩺

Our 5th graders stepped into the operating room today to tackle the Order of Operations! Equipped with their trusty gloves, students performed "surgery" on complex math problems.

Each lab team worked through 6 different surgeries, with 3 distinct expression "procedures" to solve per station. It is such a neat, hands-on way to bring PEMDAS to life and keep engagement high while mastering crucial math skills.
