Stoneham Senior Center The Stoneham Council On Aging provides services of nutrition, health, recreation, transportation, and referral programs for seniors at the Senior Center

The Stoneham Senior Center is the Town’s second Almshouse built in 1852, in the Greek Revival style. The building was renovated in 1998 and has been proudly listed on the National Register of Historical Places since 1984. The Council On Aging provides services of nutrition, health, recreation, transportation, information and referral programs for Stoneham seniors at the Senior Center.

We have received reports of individuals receiving letters claiming to be from the “State of Massachusetts” regarding a traffic violation. These notices may look official and include details such as a case number, a hearing date, and even a QR code directing you to make a payment.

These notices are NOT legitimate.

Government agencies will not request payment via QR codes or unfamiliar links.

The document may list incorrect or generic information (such as fake judge names or vague violation details).

❗ What you should do... ❗

Do NOT scan the QR code or send any payment.

Do NOT provide personal or financial information.

✅ If you are unsure whether a citation is real, you can verify it by contacting the appropriate court or law enforcement agency using official contact information, not what is listed on the suspicious notice.
