On Wednesday, February 18th at 14:50, Holland Fire was toned to respond for a report of a burst water pipe with smoke in the crawl space. On arrival, HFD spoke with the plumber on scene and he advised that there was smoke coming from wires near the burst water line. HFD disconnected the power in the residence at the main power breaker. The plumber already had an electrician in route. HFD stood by for the electrician to arrive, who then found that the power supply to the three season porch had shorted and was arching in the wall space, and almost caused a structure fire. Once the cause was identified and the residence was checked with the Thermal Imaging Camera to confirm there was no fire in the walls, Holland Fire relinquished the scene to the electricians on scene.
