Teen Sewing returns to the Suffolk Art Gallery on Tuesdays this November with instructor BJ Abadam! Since last fall groups of all ages have learned how to sew, use a sewing machine, and created their own take-home projects while enjoying BJ's supportive and fun teaching style.

We still have 3 spots in our November class! This month we're making embellished tote bags.

Congrats to the winner of the 'Rooted in Love' Viewer's Choice award! Janice Pederson's 'Abundantly Known' received the most votes during the run of the exhibition at the Suffolk Art Gallery.

About the image, from Pederson:
"The works shown in 'Rooted in Love' were shot as part of a developing series of work titled 'Visits in Grief' (2026) in which the artist sought to capture organic and candid moments while reflecting on the joy of connection with family and the weight of grief at the recent loss of the artist’s aunt. Both works were shot in San Diego, where the artist visited family for the first time in several years. The series together seeks to capture the mundane through a lens of gentle contemplation, a life planted and grown in love and time, that stretches generations. In 'Abundantly Known,' the double exposure on film seeks to explore the surreal textural contrast between a soft, candid portrait of a growing young family at sunset with the sharp lines of snake plants grown by the artist’s aunt in front of their family home. The candid depicted under the overlay was the first time the artist had met their 3 year old niece."

Just a few days left for our Open Gyms! Work on your skills and stamina playing basketball or pickleball and connect with your community in a fun environment. While Open Gym is open to ages 8+, Youth Pickleball Open Gym is open to just ages 8-17.
