A huge THANK YOU to volunteer coach Rebecca Parker for her incredible dedication and commitment to our youth athletes!

During this past Winter Futsal season, Rebecca went above and beyond by coaching THREE teams at once, an amazing accomplishment that required countless hours, organization, patience, and passion for the game. She has continued that same level of commitment into our outdoor soccer season, once again stepping up to support and encourage our players.

Volunteer coaches like Rebecca are the heart of youth sports programs. Beyond teaching skills on the field, they help build confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character that lasts far beyond the season.

Coach Parker was presented with a Volunteer Spot Award this season to recognize her dedication and commitment.

Thank you, Rebecca, for making a positive impact on so many young athletes and families in our community!

🎶🎸 TGIF Summer Concert Series Returns! 🎸🎶

Suffolk Parks & Recreation is proud to announce the return of the TGIF Summer Concert Series at Downtown Festival Park, 215 W. Washington St., on Friday, June 12.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and the band will perform from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase, as will alcohol for those 21+ with valid ID. Coolers are permitted but will be checked by security. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating. Tents and other shelters are not permitted. Free parking is available in public lots surrounding the park.

This year’s TGIF Summer Concert Series lineup includes:

◦ Series Kickoff! Free hotdog giveaway to the first 100 guests!

• June 19 – RaJazz
◦ Juneteenth Celebration! Free chicken tenders and fries to the first 100 guests!

◦ Play All Week! Join us to celebrate the Summer Solstice as we play all week throughout the City!

• July 10 – BJ Griffin Band
◦ Parks & Recreation Party! July is Parks & Recreation month! Join us to celebrate all things Parks & Rec!
