🌱 Celebrating Girl Scout Naomi Ward’s Gold Award Project! 🌱

Suisun City is proud to recognize Naomi Ward for completing her Girl Scout Gold Award Project and creating a lasting resource for our community.

More than a year ago, Naomi introduced the idea of Litter Picker Stations at a City Council meeting. She took that idea from concept to completion, creating stations that provide grabbers and buckets for community members to use when helping keep Suisun City clean.

Naomi’s project includes:
📍 A mobile station at the Suisun City Marina
📍 A mobile station for Suisun Clean Team cleanup events and community use
📍 A permanent station at Prosperity Park

These stations will continue serving the community beyond the completion of Naomi’s Gold Award, giving residents and community organizations another way to get involved in keeping Suisun City clean.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Naomi on this outstanding achievement and thanking her for turning a great idea into a resource that will benefit our community for years to come!

Suisun City and California Forever have completed the first phase of their downtown property transaction, officially transferring ownership of 707 Main Street and two downtown parking lots to California Forever.

The sale follows the initial agreement reached in June and marks a significant step in the City’s efforts to advance the revitalization of downtown Suisun City.

As part of the agreement, the City will lease the two parking lots from California Forever for $1 per year and will continue to maintain and operate them for public use. The arrangement allows the community to retain access to parking while California Forever advances planning and entitlement work for the properties.

Future development of the sites will be guided by the Downtown Specific Plan, which envisions a mix of commercial and residential uses. As planning progresses, California Forever will conduct outreach with local businesses, residents and the broader community.

The completion of the property sale comes as several other downtown and waterfront projects move forward, signaling continued development activity throughout Suisun City.

▪️Theatre and Lawler House: City staff are preparing the sale of the Theatre and Lawler House, with closings anticipated this winter.
▪️Awanta Waterfront Project: Construction on the 20-unit waterfront residential development is scheduled to begin this spring.
▪️Almond Garden and Lotz Way: Construction is underway on both the Almond Garden project and the Lotz Way development by Camran Nojoomi.
▪️Marina Property and Parcel 13: Camran Nojoomi is preparing planning applications for development of his Marina property and Parcel 13, located adjacent to Mike Day Memorial Park.
▪️Lionext Inc. Waterfront Properties: City staff are working with the developer of the Lionext Inc. waterfront properties to advance the projects toward formal application and Planning Commission review.
▪️34-Acre Downtown Parcel: The City continues to market its 34-acre parcel located at the top of downtown.

Suisun City is continuing to make progress through recovery operations following the recent cybersecurity incident. As part of ongoing operational adjustments during this transition, the City is further extending the deadline for water service disconnections and announcing temporary schedule changes for City Hall counter services.

The City and the Suisun-Solano Water Authority (SSWA) have officially extended the water service disconnection date to Wednesday, Sept. 23. This additional extension provides customers with further flexibility to address delinquent balances and complete their payments. The SSWA remains fully compliant with California Senate Bill 998 (SB 998), which authorizes the disconnection of residential water service for accounts that are more than 90 days delinquent.

Additionally, residents should note that the water counter inside City Hall will operate on an adjusted schedule tomorrow due to internal training. On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the water counter will only be open to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. Regular business hours will resume following the training session to process utility payments and assist residents.

The City is working alongside federal, state and regional agencies, including the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and California Office of Emergency Services, to investigate the cybersecurity incident, maintain essential services and restore systems.

Suisun City is continuing to make progress through recovery operations following the recent cybersecurity incident. As part of ongoing operational adjustments during this transition, the City is extending the upcoming deadline for water service disconnections.

Water disconnect notices mailed last week established Tuesday, Aug. 25, as the payment deadline, with water shut-offs originally scheduled to begin today, Aug. 26. The City and the Suisun-Solano Water Authority (SSWA) have officially moved the water service disconnection date to Wednesday, Sept. 2. This adjustment provides customers with an extra week to address delinquent balances and complete their payments.

The Suisun-Solano Water Authority (SSWA) remains fully compliant with California Senate Bill 998 (SB 998), which authorizes the disconnection of residential water service for accounts that are more than 90 days delinquent.

The water counter inside City Hall remains open to the public during normal business hours to process utility payments and assist residents. As announced previously, a representative from the Police Department is also available at the water counter this week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to handle vehicle releases, ticket sign-offs and general inquiries while the Police Department lobby undergoes planned roof renovations.

Public safety services and response remain active. Suisun City Police and Fire will continue to respond to calls for service, and Suisun City dispatchers will continue to take 911 and non-emergency calls through the Solano County dispatch center.

The City is working alongside federal, state and regional agencies, including the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and California Office of Emergency Services, to investigate the cybersecurity incident, maintain essential services and restore systems.
