Had a rush of cars headed south on Long Beach Boulevard. The water after Division Street in Surf City is up to the doors on my Tahoe and the BRIDGE IS CLOSED.

Please don't drive through it. You'll only end up blocking the road for emergency vehicles.

Apparently, Surf City isn't just a great place to retire. Our Nor'Easter decided to swing in for a visit as well. That thing in the sky is the sun. We're presently in the center of circulation which means a lil break from the rain.

The water is still up but if you have a dry spot, it might be a good time to get the puppers out to go potty. Just be mindful of any deposited floatables or downed lines.

Radar says rain in about an hour or two.

Good morning, next high tide is 11:27a at the bridge. Thanks to the rain, we have edge to edge water coverage on Barnegat, Central and most of the Boulevard South of 13th. I'm at the Bay Beach, watching the water come in. With three hours to go, the passable roads, likely won't be for a while.

Thank you for not driving the roads have been pretty quiet with only a few adventurous folks giving their cars a thorough salt water in and out bath. Everyone who was stuck is safe.

WEATHER UPDATE FOR THE OVERNIGHT

It looks like today, may be on repeat this evening. Our next high tide is 11:07 PM at the bridge. Then 11:27 AM Sunday. From what I've read, these are the last two tides of concern for this event with some fading impact through to Monday.

So, continuing winds N/NE, and additional rainfall of 1" - 1.5" I'm hoping that the North winds helped a little today. But don't forget it didn't take long for the causeway to fill up. It was passable at 8:30a and closed a few hours later.

Please try not to go out if you can avoid it and continue to be good neighbors. We defiantly appreciate it.

STORM REMINDERS:

POWER LINES: No matter how unlively they look they could bite you just the same even from a distance, especially in water. KEEP EVERYONE AWAY and Report Immediately: Call 911 or 1-800-833-7476 to report the danger. We would prefer both so we can provide a proper barrier until ACE gets there.

DRIVING THROUGH FLOODS: Please don't, just don't. Our favorite family conveyance has a ton of electroincs. When the battery dies, nothing works. No neutral, no openning doors, no nothing. Literally a four wheel road block that limits emergency services access to people who need it.

I know some of you are thinking, "my trucks raised" :) You can't see road hazards that are under water like landscaping ties with massive spikes sticking through them (those tires look expensive). If you decide to go out, please be careful and courteous. I'm certain you wouldn't want your house inundated because someone encouraged a wave entered it.

WEATHER FOR WEEKEND NOR'EASTER
Wind: 30-40 mph gusts to 60
Rain: Up to 2" starting overnight thru Saturday
Tides: continue to build with N to NE winds worst tides Saturday morning 10:50a and evening 11:07p w/full moon.

Well folks, we've seen the water building over the last couple of days, in the usual areas on Barnegat Ave and Central near the library. The worst part is coming our way starting with Saturday morning's high tide and rain.

Now's the time to batten down what hasn't been yet, and plan to move your cars to higher ground. I'd avoid the median on Barnegat Ave. There's no option to move your car from there if the water gets higher than you expect.

Please take care, be courteous, and watch out for each other. And as always, we're here if you need us.
