Thank you to The SandPaper for this great article highlighting our recent large scale training exercise!

There’s a particular sound when emergency crews arrive – radio chatter and purposeful footsteps – before the noise fades, and all that’s left is a mental image of a ticking clock. On Monday evening, July 27, volunteer first responders raced against that clock as a boat accident simulation un...

On July 23rd, we took delivery of our new ambulance, 497! This ambulance was purchased by the Borough of Ship Bottom and will proudly serve the residents and visitors of both Ship Bottom and Surf City.

As many of you know, on July 3, 2024, we became the primary EMS provider for the Borough of Ship Bottom. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Ship Bottom Mayor and Borough Council for their continued support and the trust they have placed in our EMS over the past two years.

We would also like to thank VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists for their outstanding craftsmanship in building our new ambulance.

We look forward to continuing to provide the highest level of emergency medical care to both communities. You’ll be seeing 497 in service soon!

Mainland and Long Beach Island fire and EMS agencies, along with local law enforcement, recently came together for a mock mass casualty boating incident exercise.

With the increasing number of boating accidents throughout Ocean County, it is critical that we train together for these types of large-scale emergencies. Exercises like this strengthen coordination, communication, and preparedness, ensuring we can provide the highest level of service when our communities need us most.

A special thank you to Zone 2 Deputy EMS Coordinator Mike Wolfschmidt for organizing and coordinating this outstanding training exercise, and to all of the agencies and volunteers who participated.
