October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office recognizes this month as an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence, stand with survivors and remind our community that help and support are available.

At LCSO, our Victim Advocate Unit is dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of crime — often responding alongside deputies and investigators during some of their most difficult moments.

Our victim advocates can:

• Provide emotional and moral support
• Offer on-scene crisis intervention and grief support
• Connect victims with community resources, counseling and support groups
• Help victims understand their rights
• Serve as a liaison between victims, deputies, detectives and community-based agencies
• Assist with applications for crime victim compensation
• Provide court advocacy and support throughout the criminal justice process

You do not have to navigate this alone.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing information to help increase awareness, support survivors and connect those in need with resources.

💜 We see you. We hear you. We’re here to help.
