Tequesta Fire Rescue is municipal fire department serving the Village of Tequesta and supporting surrounding communities through automatic and mutual aid agreements with Palm Beach County and Martin County. The Fire Department is under the command of Fire Chief James Trube and responds out of 1 fire station with 24 full time firefighters. Tequesta Fire Rescue maintains an inventory of 1 Ladder Truck, 2 Engines and 2 Rescues as well as a number of support vehicles.

25 years later, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and recognize the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Please join Tequesta Fire Rescue on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 AM at the 9/11 Memorial in front of Village Hall for our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

For the past nine days, Tequesta Fire Rescue had the incredible opportunity to utilize the Tequesta Country Club as a real-world training environment before the building’s demolition. This training provided an opportunity to train in a way that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom.

A special thank you to all of the agencies who joined us throughout the week and contributed their time, personnel, and expertise. Your participation made this training more dynamic, realistic, and valuable for everyone involved. We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to the Tequesta Country Club for allowing us access to the property and providing our crews with the space to train in real-world conditions before the building was demolished. Finally, thank you to the residents and surrounding community for your patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout the week. We know training of this scale can bring additional activity to the area, and we truly appreciate everyone allowing us the opportunity to train without interruption.

Training like this makes us better prepared when the call comes and seconds matter.

We’re keeping the momentum going with another day of hands-on training!

Our firefighters continued putting their skills to the test through a variety of realistic evolutions, focusing on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure. Every evolution brought a new challenge and another opportunity to learn, improve, and build confidence as a crew.

Training alongside our partner agencies also allows us to strengthen communication and coordination. A special thank you to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Martin County Fire Rescue for continuing to train alongside us and contribute to these valuable lessons.

This is just another look at the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep our firefighters prepared for whatever the call may bring.

Today, Lieutenant Dodd and Firefighter/ Paramedic Schumacher had the opportunity to provide CPR, AED, and First Aid training to the teachers at Good Shepherd School!

Keeping our community safe starts with preparation and education. Teaching educators how to recognize an emergency, perform CPR, use an AED, and provide first aid gives them the confidence and skills to act quickly when seconds matter most.

Our teachers are on the front lines every day, caring for and protecting our community’s children. By working together and sharing these lifesaving skills, we can help ensure students have an added layer of protection in an emergency.

🚒📚 Back-to-School Safety Starts With All of Us!📚🚒

The first day of school is almost here, and with students returning to classrooms on Monday, August 10, our roads and neighborhoods will become much busier. You’ll see more children walking, riding bikes, crossing streets, and getting on and off school buses throughout the Village.

Tequesta Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone that a little extra caution can make a big difference. Reduce your speed in school zones and residential neighborhoods, stay focused on the road, avoid distractions, and be prepared to stop for pedestrians and school buses. Taking a few extra seconds to drive safely can help prevent serious injuries.

As families settle back into their school routines, let’s all do our part to create a safer community for our students, crossing guards, school staff, and neighbors.

Here’s to a safe, healthy, and successful school year for every student in Tequesta! 🍎🚌💙

August 1st, 2026 - August 9th, 2026 between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Tequesta Fire Rescue will be conducting training at Tequesta Country Club.
If you see fire trucks, firefighters, or other emergency vehicles in the area on those days, there’s no need for concern—it’s all part of a planned training exercise.
These hands-on trainings help our crews stay prepared and sharpen the skills they rely on when real emergencies happen.

🐾🇺🇸 Keep Your Pets Safe This 4th of July

While we enjoy the fireworks and celebrations, our furry family members may be feeling stressed or frightened. In fact, July 4th is the busiest day of the year for lost pets.

A few simple steps can help keep them safe:
🐶 Walk dogs before fireworks begin.
🏡 Create a quiet, comfortable space indoors with familiar toys and blankets.
🚪 Keep doors, gates, and windows securely closed, and remind guests to be mindful when coming and going.
💙 Make sure your pet's microchip is registered and your contact information is up to date.

Let's help ensure every pet stays safe and at home this Independence Day.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 250 years of American independence! Honoring the courage, sacrifice, and freedom that have shaped our nation.

As you gather with family and friends to celebrate, help keep this Independence Day memorable for all the right reasons:

-Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible.
- Keep a safe distance from all fireworks and never relight a “dud.”
- Closely supervise children around sparklers—they burn at temperatures hot enough to cause severe burns.
- Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby when using legal consumer fireworks.
- Never use fireworks near dry grass, buildings, or vehicles.
- If a fire or emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.

From all of us at Tequesta Fire Rescue, we wish you a safe, fun, and happy Fourth of July. Let’s celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday responsibly so everyone makes it home safely!
