Thomson Police Department is looking for some highly motivated kids ages 10-15 that have never been exposed to the woods but would be interested in learning and being involved a program we're calling Bucks Bass and Badges. Through this program you would be exposed to land management, conservation, ethics, hunter education and the chance to harvest a deer and some fish. This program will be a year long meeting approximately once a month with no cost to the child or parent other than getting your child to the PD on the scheduled days for events.
Anyone interested in this program please submit a letter of interest to include the child's name, age, address via messenger and someone from the PD will be in contact with you.

Citizens of Thomson/Mcduffie if you have a pond and would be interested in supporting this program with a place to fish please contact us through messenger as well.

TPD had the privilege at this week’s city council meeting to present Mr. Davidson with a certificate of commendation for his actions, not only protecting his family, but the citizens of Thomson as a whole, when he and Roscoe thwarted a burglary at their residence. Roscoe was given an honorary commission into the Thomson Police Department. Roscoe received a special badge for his collar and is welcome at the PD any time he wants to visit.
Hollywood Feed is a huge supporter to police K9 programs and heard about Roscoe and his heroic actions and provided him with some treats, a fresh supply of tennis balls, and a ball chucker for his family so they can throw balls without getting “hero slobber” on their hands. If you couldn’t tell from the pictures, Roscoe really wanted in that bag right then and he definitely deserves it!

The Citizen’s Police Academy will be conducting some training at the old school on Guill Street from 6-8p with the use of some pyrotechnics. If you hear it or this sounds fun the next Citizen’s Police academy will be in October but it’s not to early to register.
