Chelsea Hicks Foundation - Chelsea's Closet A therapeutic dress-up and play program bringing hope & healing to seriously ill kids in children’s hospitals ♥️🐒 Or even mini parades.

The Chelsea Hicks Foundation was created in 2009 to inspire hope and healing to seriously ill children and their families. Jason and Alison Hicks watched their youngest daughter Chelsea go through 22 months of cancer treatment. In doing so, they witnessed the joy and how her spirit and attitude were lifted when she knew her cousins were coming to the hospital to play dress up with her. Chelsea was able to get other children at the hospital to play dress up with her also. Doctors and nurses would help with dress up/ tea parties in the hallway alcoves. Giving them special treats to eat and complimenting them on their creative costumes. When Chelsea passed away from childhood cancer in February 2009 her family did not want that experience and those memories to be just for them. They thought other families needed those memories for their children as well. Those children battling a serious illness need something special to do. We created the Chelsea Hicks Foundation to brighten the lives of seriously ill children with programs designed to add fun and create lasting memories for the whole family. Because of your generosity, we raised $25,000 more than last year to help bring joy, imagination, and moments of childhood to seriously ill children and their families.

Lincoln, Hadley, Soleil, Austin, Eli, and Ava filled our hearts during Moment to Shine at our Once Upon a Time Costume Ball & Gala. We were so proud to celebrate each of them and give our guests a glimpse of the incredible children behind our mission. 💛

Those moments onstage captured the heart of the work we do at Chelsea Hicks Foundation: bringing joy, imagination, and the chance to simply be a kid to children facing serious illnesses.

To everyone who cheered them on, donated, volunteered, and helped make that evening possible—thank you. Your support reached far beyond the ballroom, helping us bring more moments of play, pretend, and laughter to children and families who need them.

We had the joy of providing Rosie with her Cinderella dress for her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney, where she met her “big sister,” Cinderella! Matching gowns and that look of pure joy—our hearts can hardly take it. 🥹
