Troy FFA/ Agricultural Program A wide range of experiences can be had through SAE,
helping students explore their areas of interest in agriculture and careers.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education. Supervised Agricultural Experience is the part of agriscience education that provides students with the opportunity to gain the experience they need for a successful future career. SAEs allow students to develop specific job skills, earn money, and apply concepts taught in agriscience class.

🌟 From an idea to something that will benefit our chapter for years to come! 🌟
This spring, the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission hosted a Chapter Pitch Contest, and Olivia and Kendall stepped up to compete!
The idea? Create a chapter show box filled with supplies to encourage more students to get involved in working with, leasing, and showing livestock. 🐄🐖🐑🐇
Their pitch won the contest! 🎉 With the funds they received, they were able to purchase supplies for a variety of livestock species. Our chapter now has equipment and supplies to help students show everything from steers to rabbits!
But one of the coolest parts of this project is that Olivia and Kendall didn’t stop there. They worked with another chapter member, Parker, who used his SAE project to build the show box that will hold all of the supplies!

This is exactly what FFA is all about—students identifying a need, developing an idea, working together, and creating something that gives other members opportunities to succeed. We can’t wait to see this show box put to good use!💙💛

🐄🐖🐑🐐 The Troy Fair is almost here! 🎡🎉

Many of our FFA members will be exhibiting their livestock and dairy animals at the fair! Be sure to mosey through the barns and say hi, ask questions, and see all the hard work, dedication, and time they have put into raising and preparing their animals. 💙💛

And don’t forget to swing by the livestock auction on Wednesday, July 29th to show your support for our members by purchasing their market animals! Your support means so much to these young agriculturalists and helps them continue to grow and learn. 🐷🐮🐑

The Junior Livestock Auction is an exciting event! We welcome in businesses and individuals to the Troy Fair and the youth exhibitors get to show of their months of hard work.

If you are a new businesses to the area or an individual that would like to support these exhibitors please reach out, we can get a buyers letter in the mail to you this week.

Erin Cole, a Senior Regional Lender from our Agricultural Banking Division, was just awarded the 2026 Honorary FFA Degree at the PA FFA State Convention!

This honor recognizes leaders who go above and beyond to support agricultural education. For Erin, that dedication runs deep; she grew up on a family farm, earned her degree in Animal Science from Cornell University, and brings 21 years of ag lending experience to the table (including 16 years with us at FCCB!).

When she isn't helping customers at the bank, she spends her time supporting the next generation of farmers. You'll find her overseeing the youth livestock shows at the Troy Fair or serving on the Advisory Board for the Troy FFA.

Congratulations to our two Career Development Event teams on their outstanding performances at the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention!

We had a wonderful week at the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention!

Our members competed in Public Speaking, Farm Business Management, Horse Evaluation, Floriculture, Veterinary Science, and Small Gas Engines. Throughout the week, we also attended general sessions where we celebrated the accomplishments of FFA members from across the state and heard from inspiring speakers, including the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture, Penn State's Dean of Students, and our retiring State FFA Officers.

We are incredibly proud of all of our students for stepping outside their comfort zones, trying new things, and representing our chapter so well.

During Session 2 at State Convention, we were honored to recognize two of our local community members!

🔵 Erin Cole received her Honorary FFA Degree for her outstanding support of our county FFA chapters and agricultural education.

Pennsylvania FFA Proficiency Awards recognize students who develop specialized, career-focused skills through their hands-on Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.

We are so proud of Landon for earning the Pennsylvania FFA Proficiency Award in Agricultural Communications and being named a finalist in Agricultural Processing!🎉

Even more exciting, his record book will now advance to the national level for competition. His hard work, dedication, and passion for agriculture continue to open new doors, and we can't wait to see what he accomplishes next.🟡🔵
