Our Mission – Approved by Board of Directors, January 14, 2010

It is the mission of the Bradford County Library to select, acquire, organize, and preserve books and other materials of contemporary interest and permanent value for the education, enjoyment, and intellectual stimulation of the entire community. Programs will be developed to stimulate citizen’s interests and appreciation for reading

and learning. The Bradford County Library is also to provide additional service to member libraries of the Bradford County Library System in the form of special collections and supplemental library materials. The Bradford County Library endorses the Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement, both adopted by the American Library Association (ALA) Council. Literacy Program

The Bradford-Wyoming County Literacy Program is based in the Bradford County Library. The Literacy Program trains volunteer tutors and provides free and confidential “one on one” tutoring for adults and teenagers who lack basic reading skills or who want to learn English as a Second Language.
