🏗️ What an incredible two days at the Southern Arizona Construction Career Days! Thank you to Arizona Online, Pima Community College, and Southern Arizona construction industry leaders for bringing this impactful event back to our region. Together, more than 2,000 students explored career pathways through 70+ sponsors and interactive exhibits showcasing everything from carpentry, electrical work, and welding to engineering, architecture, and construction technology.

We loved hosting this inspiring event at the UA Tech Park at The Bridges, where students had the opportunity to build the blueprint for their future. 📐

Thank you, Arizona Technology Council, for an outstanding Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo 2026!

The event brought business leaders together for expert-led panel discussions on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, two topics that have become fundamental to the success of every organization. As industries continue to navigate rapid technological change, these conversations provided valuable insights into managing risk, driving innovation, and preparing for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

The event also celebrated some of Southern Arizona's most impactful innovators through the Tech + Business Expo Awards, recognizing organizations and leaders advancing technology, entrepreneurship, manufacturing excellence, and innovation.

A special congratulations to 🏆 Startup of the Year, Intelligent Clinical Systems (ICS), a University of Arizona Center for Innovation client whose success reflects the innovation and entrepreneurial talent growing throughout our ecosystem.
We also congratulate this year's outstanding award recipients:

Rounding out the day was the Expo, providing an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, innovators, and partners from across the region. It was wonderful to be part of the University of Arizona showcase alongside our colleagues from BIO5 Institute, Tech Launch Arizona, and the U of A Office of Research and Partnerships.

It was a fantastic day of celebrating innovation, recognizing achievement, and showcasing the people and organizations shaping Southern Arizona's thriving technology community.

⭐People of the Park – Meet Micah Robison VP, Enterprise Storage Development; Senior State Executive AZ/NM & Tucson Site Senior Location Executive, IBM

Micah Robison is the Vice President of IBM Enterprise Storage Development, leading a worldwide team responsible for the development of DS800, FlashSystem, Storage Insights, Common Hardware, and Site Reliability Engineering. Micah is a recognized IBM Master Inventor (2019, 2022 & 2025) due to his sustained contributions to intellectual property. He serves as IBM's Senior State Executive (SSE) for Arizona and New Mexico and as the Senior Location Executive (SLE) for the IBM Tucson site.

Fun Fact: He enjoys Jeep four-wheeling, mountain biking, geocaching and spending time with his wife and three kids.

This month, Women in IASP - International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation celebrated 10 years of connecting, supporting, and championing women across the international science park and innovation community.

A heartfelt thank you to Roz Bird, CEO of Norwich Research Park, for her exceptional leadership as Women in IASP Coordinator. Over the past two years, Roz has helped build a welcoming, collaborative network where women leaders from around the world can connect, share experiences, and support one another.

We are also proud to celebrate the transition of this leadership role to Carol Stewart, President & CEO of Tech Parks Arizona. As Roz passes the Women in IASP Coordinator role to Carol, we are excited to see this important work continue under Carol's leadership and commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and opportunity across the global community.

We loved bringing together Tech Cats from the many companies that call the UA Tech Park home for an afternoon filled with great food, new connections, and plenty of fun. Bratwurst, sauerkraut, soft pretzels, apple strudel, and root b**r on tap helped set the stage for a memorable celebration of the people behind our thriving innovation ecosystem.

The incredible turnout was a reminder that innovation happens through people, relationships, and community. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

🎉We're proud to share that Tech Parks Arizona has been recognized as one of the nation's leading innovation districts in a new report from the George W. Bush Institute-SMU Economic Growth Initiative.

The report, Advancing in the Face of Headwinds: How America's Innovation Districts are Promoting Prosperity and Opportunity, identifies the country's strongest innovation districts as places where research institutions, entrepreneurs, startups, and industry leaders come together to accelerate innovation, create opportunity, and drive economic growth.

This recognition reflects decades of work by Tech Parks Arizona to cultivate a thriving innovation ecosystem that connects research, talent, and industry to fuel innovation, strengthen the economy, and create lasting opportunities for the community.

🎉Congratulations to Casey Carrillo, Chief Innovation Officer of the University of Arizona Center for Innovation, on being named the Association of University Research Parks AURP Rising Star ⭐ Next Gen Innovation Leader at last week’s AURP International Conference. The award recognizes her leadership in strengthening Southern Arizona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and creating opportunities for emerging companies.

We were honored to celebrate alongside innovation leaders from across the AURP community. The ceremony also commemorated AURP’s 40th anniversary, celebrating four decades of advancing the people and places behind communities of innovation.
