Friday Sept 18th was AVID impact day around our district and Wilson K-8 was excited to participate!

We celebrate AVID and the impact it has on helping students become organized learners, confident communicators, and goal-driven problem solvers. Students and staff were also encouraged to wear college Tshirts on Friday Sept 18th as part of AVID impact day!

AVID equips our Wranglers with the skills, mindset, and confidence to prepare for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom! 🤠💙💚

Get excited for our annual FALL FESTIVAL happening Friday Sept 25th
4:30 pm - 7 pm
Outside at Wilson K-8 campus!

🎉 We will also be celebrating our 30th anniversary and are proud to be a school of excellence, kindness and academic success in the Amphitheater School District!

Our PTO is running the annual direct giving campaign of the ‘Boot Drive’ so please donate and plan to attend the Fall Festival where they will also have a Silent Auction, food trucks and family fun! 100% of the money raised stays on our campus to support our programs and student activities or campus beautification!

Our mascot Wally Wrangler has been out at car-rider curbside to remind our Wilson families of the big event coming up! 🤠💙💚

📐Things were getting SQUARE in 8th grade math today!

We had the PERFECT excuse to celebrate because it’s 9/16! After all, 9 = 3² and 16 = 4²… so naturally, math teacher Mrs. McCain had to throw a Perfect Square Party to celebrate ‘Perfect Square Day’! 🔢

Our mathematicians squared up with some tasty treats, cracked the code on square roots, and proved that sometimes the best way to do math is to have a little fun with it! Thank you parent donations for the ‘root’ beer, and square shaped snacks!

It was a rootin’ tootin’ good time! 🤠➗

A huge THANK YOU to the Tucson North Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who came on campus for their annual service day last weekend! They painted a wall in the preschool playground and put down w**d barrier and new pea gravel in our elementary garden.

We would also like to thank our Amphi Foundation for their generous donation of materials for the elementary garden project!

We greatly appreciate the community support to keep Wilson great!

WRANGLERS ON THE RUN!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨🏁

From Wilson Cross Country Coach Sharon Silvas:
Big congratulations to our Cross Country runners who raced the Kiwanis Invitational this weekend on Saturday 9/12/26. Our runners showed up race ready against 21 Southern Arizona Middle Schools.

🏆 And showing up FOR THE BIG WIN was our phenomenal 7th grade athlete.-Allison S who took 1st Overall with a time of 10:53.9 🙌🏼🥇 We have been coming to this race for 17 years and we have never had an athlete win 1st, so this was a significant accomplishment given that the A team competition is always tough! But our pride doesn’t stop there. For the boys team Oscar A led the Wilson pack placing 21st with a time of 11:16.4. Strong running as always.

Our ‘Careers’ class is another amazing elective offered to our Wilson middle school students. Led by teacher Mrs. Wolf, they have had the pleasure of numerous guest speakers visiting class and providing insight and guidance into the career opportunities that can lie ahead for students!

Pictured are guest speakers Mr. Beauto, a Project Manager who gave students a project to complete and practice their communication skills, and Officer Jenkins, who discussed a career in law enforcement. Guest speakers have also included Anesthesiologist Dr. C**t Taylor and Physical Therapist Mrs. Hill.

Thank you teacher Mrs. Wolf for sharing these wondering class opportunities for our Wranglers!
And thank you to these wonderful volunteers who spend time imparting knowledge of their professions!

Wilson’s STEM class elective led by teacher Mr. Peru had a great time spending a week learning, developing and creating solar ovens! 🧑‍🍳

Our middle school STEM class elective is offered as a semester long credit for our Wilson 7th and 8th graders and we love seeing their creativity and innovation at work!

The best part of the solar ovens unit were the delicious pizzas cooked by the power of our sun! ☀️

Thank you teacher Mr. Peru for sharing this wonderful hands on activity!
