Angel is continuing her education and pursuing her passion for cosmetology at Aveda Institute Tucson. 💇🏽‍♀️✨

She recently stopped by Nosotros Academy to receive the David Encinas Scholarship and celebrate this exciting milestone with Nosotros Academy administrators Mr. A, Ms. Erika, and Mr. P.

The David Encinas Scholarship continues the legacy of a beloved Nosotros Academy educator by helping graduates pursue their education, career training, and dreams after high school.

Angel’s journey is another reminder that success after graduation can take many paths—college, career and technical education, the trades, military service, and beyond.

🎉 We are incredibly proud of Nosotros Academy graduate Everado Ruiz! 🇺🇸

Everado has successfully completed 13 weeks of United States Marine Corps recruit training, an intensive process designed to transform recruits from civilians into United States Marines. What an incredible accomplishment! 💪🏽🦅🌎⚓️

Everado stopped by Nosotros Academy and took some photos with our wonderful administrators Mr. A, Ms. Erika, and Mr. P. It was a special opportunity to celebrate one of our graduates and recognize how far he has come.

We are also proud that Everado is a recipient of the David Encinas Scholarship, created to continue supporting Nosotros Academy graduates as they pursue their education, careers, and dreams beyond high school.

🎓🐻 Congratulations, Michael Martinez!

We are incredibly proud of Nosotros Academy graduate Michael Martinez, who officially began his journey at the University of Arizona this week — with a FULL-RIDE scholarship! 🎉

Michael recently stopped by Nosotros Academy to receive an additional scholarship check through our David Encinas Scholarship Program.

Mr. David Encinas was a beloved alternative education teacher who dedicated 20 years of service to Nosotros Academy and our students. Upon his passing, he left behind a scholarship endowment to help Nosotros Academy graduates with college tuition, books, supplies, and other educational expenses for generations to come.

What a powerful legacy. ❤️ Mr. Encinas believed in our students and envisioned a future where they would leave Nosotros Academy prepared to pursue college, careers, and opportunities beyond our campus.

Today, Michael is living out that vision.

At Nosotros Academy, we want students to experience learning that connects directly to the real world. 🧑‍🏭🔥

Under the guidance of Mr. Paz, our high school students are getting their first hands-on experiences in our Welding Exploratory Class—learning the fundamentals of welding, safety, craftsmanship, and working with tools and materials.

The welding industry offers pathways into construction, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, fabrication, and other skilled trades. For some of our students, an exploratory class like this could be the first step toward discovering a career they never knew was possible.

We can’t wait to see their skills develop and the projects they create throughout the year!

Our students had the opportunity to learn more about Grand Canyon University, the academic programs offered, and the many educational and career pathways available to them after high school.

Experiences like these are important because they expose our students to different possibilities and help them begin thinking about where their education can take them. We appreciate Cesar for encouraging our students to set ambitious goals and consider GCU as one of their options for higher education!

🔧 Exploring Careers in the Skilled Trades! 🚗✈️🔥

Nosotros Academy students had the opportunity to travel to the Phoenix area and visit Universal Technical Institute (UTI) to explore postsecondary education and career pathways in the skilled trades!

A huge THANK YOU to our College & Career Counselor, Ms. Hernandez, and our Career & Technical Education teacher, Mr. Gomez, for taking our students on this experience and helping them see the many possibilities available after high school.

UTI’s Arizona programs provide hands-on career training in fields including Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Welding, HVACR, and Airframe & Powerplant/Aviation. Students train in industry-style labs using tools and technology connected to the careers they are preparing to enter. (UTI Corporate)

At Nosotros Academy, we want students to know that there are multiple pathways to a successful future—college, technical education, certifications, apprenticeships, and the skilled trades. Mr. Paz has officially kicked off his Welding Exploratory Class with our Nosotros Academy high school students!

Welding introduces students to a skilled trade with opportunities across industries such as construction, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, infrastructure, and fabrication. Students can explore pathways into apprenticeships, technical programs, industry certifications, and careers in the skilled trades.

Most importantly, our students are getting the opportunity to work with their hands, create something tangible, and discover talents that could lead to a future career.
