What happens during 90 days at TLC? 🔑

At the Transitional Living Center (TLC), our goal is to help clients move from homelessness to permanent housing within 90 days.

But getting from Day 1 to housing looks different for every person.

It may mean replacing an ID. Finding employment or increasing income. Applying for benefits. Building savings. Addressing transportation or childcare barriers. Searching for landlords. Completing housing applications. And sometimes, starting again when the first plan doesn't work.

Our case management and housing teams work alongside each client to identify their individual barriers and build a plan toward permanent housing.

90 days is our goal, not a promise that every journey will take exactly 90 days. Because the keys are the moment everyone celebrates. ❤️

But a lot of work happens before the keys.

Our Transitional Living Center (TLC) is a 90-day program focused on helping clients move toward permanent housing.

During their stay, clients work with our team to identify and address the barriers standing between them and their next home — things like employment and income, IDs, transportation, savings and housing applications.

Most importantly, clients are doing the work — earning income, saving money, completing applications and taking steps toward their own goals, with our team walking beside them along the way.

90 days is the goal, not a guarantee. Every journey looks different, but the goal is the same:

A place of their own. 🔑❤️

A new chapter for Kimberly 🏡

Today is a big day for Kimberly. She’s moving into a home of her own!

Kimberly came to the Tulsa County Transitional Living Center ready to work toward stability and a fresh start. A proud veteran, she brought that same determination to her journey here.

Along the way, she also became part of the Tulsa County family, working at the Tulsa County Election Board while continuing to work toward her goal of permanent housing.

And today, she reached it.

Kimberly did the work. We were honored to walk beside her.

A little extra support can go a long way. ❤️

For families working toward stable housing, keeping life as normal as possible for their kids matters.

Through a partnership between Tulsa County Social Services and Tulsa Public Schools, Miss Jennifer spends time at the Transitional Living Center helping students with homework and providing extra support, even during the summer.

Students in our TLC can also receive school supplies, uniforms, transportation to their school of origin when eligible, and other support they need to succeed.

It’s a great example of what can happen when our community comes together to support kids and families.

A New Chapter for Nathan 🌱

After 90 days at the Tulsa County Social Services Transitional Living Center, Nathan is moving forward with new skills, new opportunities and a job with Tulsa County Parks.

During his time in the program, Nathan learned valuable investing skills while working toward greater stability and independence. Now, he’s putting those skills to work as he takes the next step in his journey.

Celebrating progress at Tulsa County Social Services 🎊

This month, we’re celebrating the incredible progress our clients are making toward building a more stable and independent future.

Clients secured permanent housing and took steps toward finding a place to call home.

Others celebrated new jobs and career opportunities.

Through financial coaching, several of our clients saved more than $1,500 this month, building stronger financial habits for the future.

Every milestone, big or small, represents hard work, determination and hope for a brighter future. We’re proud to walk alongside our clients, connect them with resources and opportunities, and support them as they grow, reach their goals and rise above every challenge along the way. 💛

Celebrating growth, confidence and new beginnings!❤️
We are so proud to celebrate two TLC clients who recently graduated from the Dress for Success Tulsa program! Dress for Success is about more than interview attire. It builds confidence, strengthens employment skills and encourages independence.

These two ladies put in the work, earned their certificates and are taking another step towards stability and a brighter future. We are incredibly proud to walk along side them.

A huge thank you to Dress for Success for investing in the women we serve and helping them prepare for their next chapter.

✨ SUCCESS STORY: STEPPING INTO HIS OWN ✨

Sometimes success isn’t just about finding housing. Sometimes it’s about realizing, “I can do this.” ❤️

When AH came to TLC, he was at a point in life where he was learning what it meant to take ownership of his own future. During his time with us, we watched him work, save, make plans, and become more confident in his ability to stand on his own two feet separate from his mom and brother.

And this week, all of that work paid off:

🔑 AH moved into his own apartment!

There’s something especially meaningful about watching a young person begin to see themselves differently—not just as someone trying to get through the next day, but as someone capable of building a life of their own.

AH leaves TLC with more than a set of keys. He leaves with independence, responsibility, and the knowledge that he did this.

We are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in him, and we can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
