Today, we remember and honor the lives lost during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Earlier this year, Mayor Monroe Nichols announced (also May 31) June 1 as an annual Day of Observance—a time for our community to reflect, learn, and remember.

This day serves as an opportunity for residents, schools, businesses, and community organizations to engage in meaningful discussions and activities that recognize the significance of this tragic event in our history. As we honor the memory of those who lost their lives, we also reaffirm the importance of understanding our past and working together toward a brighter future.

Following World War I, Tulsa was recognized nationally for its affluent African American community known as the Greenwood District. This thriving business district and surrounding residential area was referred to as “Black Wall Street.”

🏅🐾 Our Husky Olympics Field Day was a huge success! Students had an amazing time playing fun games, enjoying delicious food and ice cream, and making great memories with friends and teachers. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!

🏅🐾 Husky Olympics Update! 🐾🏅

Due to scheduling changes, Dip N Dots and the firetruck activities have been moved and will not be available tomorrow. However, Husky Olympics has been rescheduled for tomorrow, May 27th, and we are still excited for a fun-filled day with our students! 🎉☀️

📍 Parents are welcome to join us for a picnic at 10:30 AM.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸 Memorial Day is a time to reflect on their courage, service, and dedication to protecting our freedoms. We are forever grateful for those who gave everything for our nation. ❤️🤍💙

As we enjoy the holiday weekend, let’s also finish the school year strong! We have just TWO more days of school left, with our last day being May 27th! 🎉📚
