A huge thank you to Bike Club for visiting our kiddos at Apache Manor to kick off Summer Bike Club this week! 🚲

They spent over three hours on site and repaired 20 bikes, handed out helmets, and brought a few bikes to give away as well.

We’re so grateful for these kind folks’ help in getting our resident kiddos ready for summer fun! ☀️

We’re already seeing the incredible impact 36N is having on residents and the surrounding community, but there’s something essential behind this development that makes ongoing transformation possible in North Tulsa: infrastructure. 🏗️

To help unlock more potential and attract future investment, infrastructure upgrades are necessary to support increased housing, density, and overall development. As co-grantee on the 36N HUD Choice Neighborhoods grant, the City of Tulsa Gov has invested $14 million in critical infrastructure improvements at 36N and the surrounding area, including upgrades to water and sewer lines and the street grid.

Not only does this investment support continued development at 36N—including 545 mixed-income homes and more than 9,000 square feet of commercial space—it’s also already helping enable additional neighborhood development, like the 73 single-family homes at Capital Homes’ Flat Rock Ridge. Looking ahead, we’re excited about the future of North Tulsa and the potential residential and small-scale commercial development these infrastructure upgrades pave the way for. 🏢

Nothing can grow without a strong foundation, and these transformative infrastructure improvements are exactly what we need to create a better Tulsa. 💪

Resident Spotlight 🌟
📍Pioneer Plaza

Fred, Tulsa native and Pioneer Plaza resident, has been playing guitar since the 90s, but for him, music has always been something much deeper than the instrument itself. It has served as a way to both express himself and, most importantly to him, connect with others.

His love for the instrument began by chance, when his sister was cleaning out her closet, found an old guitar she no longer had use for, and gifted it to him. 🎸

This was the beginning of his passion for playing the guitar, but Fred had already spent decades learning multiple instruments — the first being cello in elementary school, then piano, trumpet, and trombone. Many of these were self-taught.

Fred quickly got to work practicing guitar, and eventually learned 816 Baptist hymns. He turned this talent into service for others, standing outside John 3:16 regularly to play music and provide encouragement and solace to those coming in and out of the building. Many would join in and sing the hymns as he played, one popular song being “When the Saints Go Marching In.” He brought this same routine to a local Dollar Tree as well. 🎶

It has been decades since Fred has used his talent to connect with and encourage others in this way, but Fred’s passion for music and connection has not gone away. He still plays his guitar every single day, learning notes to new songs. He is currently learning the Book of Psalms and occasionally enjoys sitting in the common spaces on the ground floor of Pioneer Plaza, connecting with fellow residents in the building.

We’re so grateful to have residents like Fred who bring a passionate spirit to our community and share our dedication to bettering the lives of those around them! ⭐️

It’s graduation season, and we couldn’t be more proud of these two graduates, Anastasia and Le’sheay! 🎉

Anastasia, a former Comanche Park resident, worked incredibly hard to earn her GED — pushing through challenges and staying dedicated until she passed. Her next step is continuing her education at TCC, where she hopes to eventually become an X-ray technician! 🩻

Le’sheay started her journey with the FSS program while employed part-time, with goals of improving her career path and finances, as well as one day becoming a homeowner. Though she juggled a lot throughout her time in the program — working to support her family and going to school — she successfully completed homeownership counseling and secured a full-time job. Soon, she’ll be taking the next steps toward achieving her goal of buying a home! 🏡

Le’sheay shared, “To the board, the staff, and everyone who makes this program possible — thank you. Your work changes lives. It changed mine…and to anyone out there who’s just starting their journey — keep going. You’re stronger than you think, and your future is worth fighting for.”

These two amazing women are living proof that there is no limit to what you can achieve when you set goals and see them through! 💪
