We would love to expand this opportunity to other schools and to Bishop Kelly to partner with us to hear more stories from our veterans.

History comes alive when we want to take the time to hear it in person.

James, a Bishop Kelly High School student came to the Coffee Bunker with one purpose, to interview World War II and Korean War veteran, Ray Bachlor, and learn about his military service firsthand. Across a cup of coffee, two generations connected through stories of courage, sacrifice, and service.

This is what the Coffee Bunker is all about: preserving the stories of those who served and inspiring the next generation to listen, learn, and remember.

History comes alive when we take the time to hear it. Thank you, James, for taking the time.🇺🇸

Navy veterans reconnecting 50 years later at the Coffee Bunker. 🇺🇸

Two Navy veterans, David Bermen and Richard Kindberg, met for the first time today and quickly discovered they had served aboard the USS New Orleans LPH-11 at the same time during the Vietnam era, from 1973 to 1975.

Joining them is fellow Navy veteran Keith Ash, who also spent a week aboard the USS New Orleans during that same period while waiting to join his ship, the USS Mauna Kea AE-22.

More than 50 years later, their paths crossed . Moments like this remind us just how powerful it can be to bring veterans together, sharing stories, discovering connections, and finding a little piece of their past sitting right across the table. 🇺🇸

As you may have noticed in our previous post, the need for both our Emergency Food Pantry and Pantry for Patriots has increased dramatically. Our shelves are being emptied faster than ever, and we need your help keeping them stocked.
