Meet our new Advocate Supervisor, Kristina Crain!

"I am thrilled to join Tulsa CASA as its newest Advocate Supervisor. After nearly 25 years serving children and families as an educator, I am honored to support the incredible CASA volunteers who are committed to advocating for some of Tulsa county’s most vulnerable children and youth.

My husband and I live in Claremore, Oklahoma, and are proud parents of two adult children. Our daughter, Gracie, is a college graduate and has already left the nest, while our son, Tyler, is on track to earn his bachelor’s degree next spring. Whenever we have the opportunity, we enjoy spending time with our friends and church community and spoiling our beloved fur baby, Bella.
The future is bright, and I am excited to begin this new chapter with Tulsa CASA. I look forward to serving alongside such a passionate team and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community."

Hey Tulsa CASA family! ⚾️✨

We have some major field-of-dreams news! On Saturday, May 30th, Tulsa CASA is stepping into the Community Spotlight at ONEOK Field as our Tulsa Drillers take on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals!

We will be out at the stadium spreading the word about child advocacy, but we want our incredible advocates right there in the stands celebrating with us.

Move over, OKC—Tulsa just added some serious depth to its roster!

Yesterday, four incredible individuals officially "signed" with the home team. They were sworn in by Judge Davis in Tulsa County, officially transitioning from rookies to CASA Volunteer Advocates.

Why the Scouting Report is Glowing:
Just like the Oklahoma City Thunder, these advocates know that success isn't just about one big play—it’s about consistency, heart, and being a "pro’s pro" for those who need it most.

Elite Defense: They’ll be standing up for the best interests of children in the foster care system.

Playmaking: They help navigate complex cases to ensure every child finds a safe, permanent home.

Thunder Up: They bring the energy and dedication needed to change a child’s life trajectory.

This fantastic group had all the thoughtful questions AND the enthusiasm! Thank you for collecting over 220 Squishmallows for children in foster care, girls!

Please help us welcome our new Training and Recruitment Specialist, Audra Dawson!

Audra brings nearly a decade of experience in social services, working with a wide range of populations—including children in foster care, crime victims & survivors, veterans, and families navigating mental health and substance use challenges. No matter where her career has taken her, her heart has always led her back to working with kids and teens.

Her journey in child welfare started back in college at MSU Denver, where she earned her degree in Hospitality & Events Management. While in school, she began working as direct care provider and eventually became a Foster Home Manager—supporting some of the highest-needs foster youth in Colorado. That experience really shaped her passion for advocacy and set the direction for her career.

More recently, Audra was a CPS Child Welfare Specialist with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services where she conducted investigations, supported families through complex challenges, and collaborated with teams to ensure child safety. After leaving that role at the beginning of the year, she immediately applied to become a CASA volunteer because she believed so strongly in the mission and still wanted to stay involved in making a difference for children. Now, she’s excited to be on the other side—helping recruit and train volunteers who will show up for kids in our community.

Originally from Colorado, Audra spent time in Maine and California before eventually settling in Tulsa to be closer to family. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, baking, and spending time with her husband, along with their two dogs and cat.

Congratulations to our wonderful Executive Director, Elizabeth Fisher, for being appointed to the National CASA Leadership Council. Liz's dedication to CASA is a gift to Tulsa County and beyond.

The National Leadership Council is a working council whose purpose is to represent the
interests and perspectives of the entire CASA network and ensure those voices are elevated to National CASA/GAL staff and the Board of Trustees. The NLC also plays an important role in
strengthening connections across the network and fostering collaboration and accountability in
advancing the CASA/GAL mission and vision.
