Yesterday, Ms. Peterson’s Kindergarten scholars took learning to the next level! 📚

🔢 Math: Her scholars practiced comparing numbers 0–10 using UNO cards, number blocks, and their special friend Blockzee! 🧩🃏 They had so much fun learning while building their number sense!❤️🏁

It’s time to SHOW YOUR COLORS!
Governor Kay Ivey has officially proclaimed Friday, September 4, as College Colors Day in Alabama!

We’re encouraging all SVE students to show their school spirit by wearing their favorite university’s colors. Whether you cheer for the Crimson Tide, Tigers, Hornets, Bulldogs, Blazers, Trojans, or another favorite team, show your school spirit proudly!

Our First P.O.W.E.R. Core Value: PERSEVERANT!

This month our scholars learned that being perseverant means keeping going, even when something is difficult. Students talked about challenges, making mistakes, asking for help, and trying again. We reminded them that “I can’t do it YET!” is a powerful way to think! 💙

🏠 Try it at home! Encourage your child to:
🧩 Keep trying when something is challenging
💬 Use “yet” language
🌟 Try a different strategy
👏 Celebrate effort, not just success

Ask your child: “What is something that is hard for you right now, and what can you do when it gets hard?”

Together, we can help our students become PERSEVERANT learners who don’t give up!
